Hi! I’m Siddharth Yenamandra, a senior at Eastlake High School with a love for writing, neuroscience, and chess. I love exploring how the brain works and translating complex science into clear, engaging stories, one of the big reasons I started this blog. While most posts dive into neural circuits, cognitive quirks, or cool research, every now and then you’ll see chess sneak in too.
Outside of the classroom, I love volunteering in the hospital, working with patients and helping them in the most I can. I also love to teach, and regularly coach chess privately 1:1, teach group lessons at Chess4Life, and coach group tennis lessons on the weekends. Helping others learn about my interests, whether it’s chess, tennis, or neuroscience, makes me happy.
I also spend a lot of time building things. I’ve worked on rocketry, hot-air balloon, and chemical engineering projects, which taught me what how engineering revolves around failure and iteration. On the science side, I’ve done neuroscience research (look into the My Research tab), including work on Parkinson’s disease neuronal modeling during my time at the BU RISE program. That experience definetely strengthened my interest in biomedical engineering.
Overall, I love to dive into complex ideas, solve hard problems, and share what I learn along the way. Thanks for visiting, and I hope my posts inspire you to explore something new today.
